It's after 11pm and Bucky can't sleep, but not for the usual reasons. No, this reason is newer, and sometimes even a little more frustrating. This time he can't sleep because he's horny. In the past, this happened with a lot less frequency and when the issue did arise, so to speak, he could take care of it in a few minutes with some spit and his right hand.

But now he has other options. Now, sex isn't just some fond memory from time gone by. It's something that he has with somewhat astonishing regularity, and now it seems that his body has gotten accustomed to it. He tried jerking off and it only seemed to soothe the itch for a moment, like pressing a fingernail into a mosquito bite.

He rolls over in bed and reaches out to turn on his lamp, eyes catching on his phone. After a pause, he reaches out to touch the screen and check the time. Late, but not too late. He always finds himself wary of reaching out to Loki or Sylvie later at night because they live together, and while he knows that they aren't attached at the hip, it's likely that they spend a lot of their nights together, and he worries about being an interruption. He's a part of them but not a part of their household, and he never wants to intrude.

Eventually, he grabs the phone and rolls onto his back, feeling ridiculously like a teenager in how he's overthinking things. He'll just send a text and if Loki doesn't answer, it's just because he's busy.

Bopp misses you, he sends, blowing out a breath as he drops the phone to the bed and looks down at the slight bulge in his sleep pants. "Look what you made me do."

“Well, I certainly can’t give you diamonds or gold, so sugar will have to do,” Bucky jokes with a little wink, even though he knows that Loki doesn’t want that from him. He’s spent a lot of time thinking about what Loki does want from him, because at first he was sure that it had to be something, but he never could figure out what.

Now he thinks that it’s nothing at all. He wants nothing from Bucky other than his time. He wants nothing that Bucky isn’t willingly handing over. It means a great deal to him.

He listens as he follows Loki into the kitchen and then goes still at the end, flushing a bit at being caught out. It isn’t a bad feeling necessarily. It’s good to be seen, even down into the cracks.

“Believe me, I try,” he admits with an amused exhale, leaning against the doorway and crossing his arms over his chest as Loki fiddles with the rose, smiling fondly.

"Hm," Loki acknowledged, cutting him a faintly knowing smile. With one last flourish, he decided the rose was leaning inside its little crystal vase just right.

"It looks rather nice, doesn't it?" He asked, eyes bright. "Though, perhaps that's just the vase."

“Looks kinda like us,” Bucky muses, smirking wryly at the sight of a cheap resilient bloom finding home in a fragile ornate vase, greedily sucking up nutrients after going so long without. “Better together.”

It’s a corny thing to say, but it’s better than the ambling metaphor in his head.

“I come all this way and bring you a flower, and I don’t even get a kiss?” He chuckles and shakes his head. “Ain’t that just the way.”

"Oh, my apologies. I wasn't aware I owed you for your troubles," he teased, leaning casually against the counter.

Holding out a hand, he said, "Come here, then. Collect your fee."

“You sure like making me work for it,” he teases, smiling as he reaches out to take Loki’s hand, letting himself be reeled in until they’re close enough for him to reach out and put metal hand on Loki’s bare hip, cool fingertips nudging beneath the waistband of his pants.

He leans in as if he’s going to kiss Loki and stops two inches away, smirking and pointedly licking his own bottom lip and letting his accent thicken. “Work with me a little, doll.”

Chuckling, Loki curled his other hand in the front of Bucky's shirt, drawing him the rest of the way in. "I don't know why I put up with you," he murmured against Bucky's lips, nudging his mouth open and drawing him into a deep, lazy kiss.

Bopp's little nails clicked merrily across the hardwood as she explored the kitchen, nose to the floor. They'd never given her free reign of the place, but he wasn't worried she'd get herself into trouble.

“I can think of a few reasons,” Bucky says right before their mouths meet, groaning low in his throat as Loki’s tongue sweeps into his mouth. He sucks on it, nipping at his bottom lip before kissing him again.

“I was thinking about you,” he admits against Loki’s mouth, kissing him as he puts his hands on Loki’s hips and lifts him easily up onto the kitchen island, pressing himself between the other man’s thighs while reaching up to cup the side of his face.

"Is that so?" He murmured warmly, knees opening for Bucky to make room for himself between them. Unzipping Bucky's hoodie, Loki slipped his hands inside, letting out a low hum at the warmth of his skin through the thin cotton of his shirt.

"I had suspected, when you sent me that text," he teased, kissing the corner of Bucky's mouth. "I suppose it wouldn't shock you to hear that I was thinking of you, as well. I was almost out of bed and on my way to your door, when I received that timely message."

Finally kissing Loki feels almost like a dam breaking, like an itch being scratched, and a part of him is so afraid of needing someone so much. The louder part of him is simply just so glad to be here with Loki in his arms.

“Were you really?” Bucky asks, finding the words terribly sweet. They’re acting like it’s been weeks since they’ve seen each other rather than days, but maybe that’s what it’s like to be in love. Any time apart feels stretched out endlessly.

“I’m here now,” he murmurs, curling his metal hand around the back of Loki’s neck while the other grabs at his hip, dragging him in closer. “I’m yours for the night.”

"Hm, I like the sound of that," Loki admitted, his voice a low rumble as he allowed himself to be reeled in until he was perched on the very edge of the counter top.

"What shall I do with you, then?" He wondered, pushing the hooded sweatshirt off of Bucky's shoulders and letting it catch down around his elbows.

“Me too,” Bucky replies, feeling a sharp shiver of arousal at the sound of Loki’s low voice, that suggestive question in an accent that drives Bucky a little insane.

He grins and tugs the hoodie off before looping the fabric behind Loki’s back, gripping both ends of it and using it to tug him forward until there is barely any room between them at all.

“Whatever you want,” he says against Loki’s mouth, just before kissing him again. It’s a big offer, but he trusts Loki. Not only that, he wants. He wants so bad that he walked across the city at midnight, and as long as he’s touching Loki, he’ll be happy. “As long as it takes all night.”

"Not planning to get any sleep, then," Loki observed, a smile breaking out against Bucky's lips and hands working their way beneath the hem of Bucky's t-shirt.

"I'm sure I can occupy you somehow."

"Not unless you wear me out," Bucky replies between kisses, letting go of the hoodie so he can get his hands on Loki's bare skin, sliding them up his flanks and along his back, over the wings of his shoulders.

"You're very resourceful," he teases, grinning against Loki's mouth and sliding his good hand up into Loki's soft hair, fingers slipping through the loose curls before cupping the base of his skull to drag him in for a deeper, more thorough kiss.

"And here I was, looking forward to a quiet evening," he teased right back, gripping him tighter as he pressed deeper into the kiss. They seemed to keep getting derailed by all their smiling, but perhaps that wasn't a problem after all.

"As lovely as this is, I think I'd like to take you upstairs."

"You mean we're not going to fuck in the kitchen?" He grins and slowly scoops Loki off of the counter, holding him up easily long enough to give him another kiss. After setting him down onto the tile, Bucky turns away and lets out a low whistle, heading for the back door as Bopp comes running through the kitchen and out into the backyard.

He knows that she'll be safe out there on her own, even if it's dark. Bucky walked every inch of the fence himself and knows it's secure, and he trusts his dog more than he trusts most people.

"Is it okay if I leave this open a crack for her?" Bucky asks, turning to lift his brows imploringly at Loki. "She'll come in when she's done."

"We can fuck wherever you'd like," Loki assured him, laughing as he was lifted off the counter and onto his feet once again. Bucky, it seemed, was never going to tire of doing that.

"And so will every pigeon in Darrow," Loki realized with a frown, stepping past the other man and out into the yard. For a moment, he watched her happily trot around their small patch of grass. Their wasn't much of a yard to speak of, but enough room for her to explore beyond the patio table and chairs. "She needs one of those little pet doors," he observed as he came back inside, filing the necessity away to be dealt with later. He could've done a spell to approximate one temporarily, but for now, he simply put up a magical barrier that only she could cross.

"The possibilities are endless in this place," he says with a laugh, lingering in the doorway and watching with fond amusement as Loki inspects the yard. When he mentions a dog door, Bucky's heart seems to do a complicated lurch, like it's expanded and flipped over in his chest.

This isn't their home, but space has been made for them here, and Bucky feels a surge of affection that comes through plainly in the smile that he gives Loki. There's a green shimmer, probably some sort of barrier, but Bucky doesn't question it.

What he does instead is crowd Loki in against the wall and give him an enthusiastic kiss, good hand on Loki's face while gripping his hip with the other.


"Okay," he murmurs against Loki's mouth, walking backwards and pulling Loki through the kitchen, palming at his ass through pants that just feel expensive. "We need to not be wearing clothes anymore."

"If I had my way, you'd have been rid of them as soon as you stepped through the door," Loki teased, allowing himself to be pulled through the living room and towards the stairs. Only a few strides away from the bottom step, Loki surged forward, wrapping his arms around Bucky's middle and hauling him easily over his shoulder.

For all the times Bucky had reveled in manhandling him, it seemed only fair.

“I admire your restraint,” Bucky says with a laugh, eyes widening as Loki suddenly lunges at him. He lets out a startled yelp that turns into a bright laugh as he’s hefted over Loki’s shoulder in a fireman’s carry. It’s a new sensation and were it anyone else, he’d absolutely hate it.

But that’s true of so many things with the two of them.

“Touché,” Bucky chuckles out, hanging limply over Loki’s shoulder as he’s carted up the stairs. From his vantage point, he can see Loki’s ass flexing as he climbs the steps, and he reaches down to give it a light slap. “But I have no complaints.”

Climbing the stairs with as much grace as one could with a fully grown man thrown over one's shoulder, Loki laughed happily in his triumph. "If you had, they surely would've been empty."

Stepping into his room, Loki strode directly towards the bed and dumped the other man onto it unceremoniously. His eyes were bright with amusement when he said, "We both know how hard it makes you, knowing what I could do to you."

Bucky lands hard on his back in the middle of the bed, bouncing a little as he spreads his arms out to the side and raises his eyebrows at Loki’s declaration. He also blushes a little bit, and he’s sure it won’t escape Loki’s notice.

“You seem pretty sure of yourself,” Bucky murmurs, toeing off one sneaker and then another, kicking them off of the bed. “And what is it that you think you could do to me?”

"Do I have a reason not to be?" Loki asked, brow arched playfully as he slipped out of his pajama bottoms, the fine material puddling at his feet. He stood naked at the foot of the bed, allowing Bucky a moment to look, before he hooked his hands behind Bucky's knees and dragged him to the edge of the mattress.

"Whatever I want, I suspect."

Loki's cockiness should be annoying. Sometimes it can be, but right now Bucky would have to admit that he does have reason to be smug. Bucky came running just because Loki told him to, practically throbbing with need. He can't pretend that this isn't exactly where he wants to be, especially when Loki's pants fall to the floor and Bucky's gaze drops to his half-hard cock.

He's so distracted by his own desire that suddenly being yanked by his knees surprises him, breath hitching as heat flares at the base of his spine, thighs falling open as he slides his arms up over his head, staring up at Loki's face.

"And what is it you want?" He asks in a low voice, lifting one foot to rest the back of his heel on top of Loki's shoulder.

"And why would I tell you that, and spoil the mystery?" Loki teased, turning to press a kiss to the inside of Bucky's ankle, and hand curving gently under his strong calf.

Hands moving to the waistband of Bucky's sweats, Loki took his time stripping them from him. "Look at you," he murmured, still taken aback not only by how lovely Bucky was, but by how it seemed to affect him. More than his lust, which was considerable, Loki felt overwhelming affection for him. A desire to hold him, to keep him safe. Above all, he felt compelled to protect Bucky's happiness, which was a feeling so precious and new to him, he hardly knew what to do with it.

"Oh, sorry. I didn't know that you were being bossy and mysterious," Bucky says with a warm chuckle, biting his bottom lip to hide a smile as Loki's lips touch the knob of bone at his ankle. "I can't see myself, doll."

He smiles and lifts his hips as Loki drags down his sweats, staring at the other man's face. No, he can't see himself, but it almost feels like he can just because of the look on Loki's face. He's staring at Bucky like he couldn't bare to look away, and it makes him feel attractive and important. It makes him feel loved and safe, and that's why he's fine with letting Loki do whatever he wants.

"But I like how you look at me," he admits in a low rumble of a voice, keeping his arms over his head as he curls one bare leg around Loki's thighs.
