There are truly cruel people in the world, people who desire causing pain, and in some ways, Sylvie has been one of them. She doesn’t believe Bucky is. But wanting to cause pain isn’t always at the root of it.

She doesn’t say so, though. They both know it, they’ve both lived long enough to have experienced it. There’s no reason to reiterate what they already know.
