'til the end of the line

Sylvie glances down at her hip, surprised by the smudges of bruises on her skin. There aren’t many people who could do such a thing and when she looks back up at Bucky, she has one eyebrow arched, almost impressed.

“No,” she says. “You didn’t. I’m surprised you think I’d mind if you did.”

It’s nice to think they might be gentle with one another from time to time, but it’s just as nice to think they can be as rough as they want. That hurting each other isn’t likely at all.
