The worst part, for all she doesn’t want to admit it, is that he can hurt her now. Not physically, or even if he did, she doesn’t think she would mind it much, but Bucky has seen the vulnerable parts of her, the places where she hides her fears. Having seen into her so plainly, he has the ability to destroy her.

What she hopes is, despite having the ammunition now, the ability, he doesn’t have to capacity for it.

“I suppose I can indulge you,” she says, then pushes up on her arm, rolling over Bucky’s hips, straddling him and then leaning down to rest her crossed forearms on his chest. She stretches languidly, like a cat, then settles her chin on her folded arms, looking at him.

“But trust me, if you hurt me, you’ll bloody well know it.”
